parenting help co-parenting single parent helpIf you or a friend of yours has ever gone through a breakup of a marriage or separation from your significant other, leaving each parent on their own. So here you find yourself single again and the rules of the game have changed. You now have children and are a parent that's single. So you can appreciate the necessity for being successful as a Single Parent.

So what does a Single Parent or a Parent that's Single mean?

The best way to start is by looking at the definitions of the term:
(definition of single parent was taken from the Encarta World English Dictionary®):

  • single parent: somebody who raises a child alone: a parent who brings up a child or children alone, usually because he or she is unmarried, widowed or divorced.
  • "A single parent (also lone parent and sole parent) is a parent who cares for one or more children without the assistance of another parent in the home. The legal definition of "single parenthood" may vary according to the local laws of different nations or regions." — Wikipedia®
