parenting help children & divorceAre you in that situation facing 50% of marriages today - Divorce?  Do you have children together and wonder how to best help them through this difficult time?  A Child Divorce situation is rough on the kids, but especially those that keep asking "but why?"

What exactly is a Child Divorce?

The best way to start is by looking at the definitions of the terms:

  • child: a person or an individual in a small body - one that is not fully grown (our favorite definition).
  • divorce: separation: a complete separation or split. — Encarta World English Dictionary®
We're all familiar with the basic definition of divorce that the marriage is over; have you ever looked at this definition of divorce - "a completion separation or split" and the effect it can have on a child.

Divorce is particularly challenging for the parent but given the long-term effect it can have on the children makes it imperative that the parents educate themselves on how to deal with and lessen the detrimental impact.  When you have a Child Divorce scene, split between two parents, you really do have to work a lot harder to have your ducks lined up and make up for the one that's missing with your child.

Our job as "Your Partner in Parenting... from Toddler to Teenager" is to be there for you with the data you need and that will help you either prevent a divorce from occurring or remedy it's effects as you're going through it.
