Doc McCullen

Dr. McCullen then completed studies at the Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston under the guidance of Ann Wigmore (pioneer of raw foodism, and wheat grass therapy) and the renowned Dr. Joseph DiRuzzio, acupuncturist and alternative healthcare expert. Later she attended Bastyr College of Naturopathic Medicine in Seattle and trained under distinguished physician Dr. John Bartholomew Bastyr.

Dr. McCullen also had the opportunity to learn under the guidance of Dr. Major Dejarnette, internationally acclaimed osteopath and chiropractor. As her mentor, Dr. Dejarnette inspired Dr. McCullen in her studies of chiropractic. She graduated magna cum laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 1983.

Dr. McCullen then traveled to equatorial Africa as part of an expedition into an unexplored area of the Congo basin. Her professional role there included keeping the 23 members of the expedition sound. In addition, her talents as a physician allowed the group access to various villages, having bartered their safe passage in return for her care and instruction.

Upon returning to the United States, Dr. McCullen established her chiropractic practice in 1985. As a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association she has had the opportunity to work with Dr. Larry Webster, known for his “Webster Technique”. This technique is a chiropractic adjustment that makes pregnant women more comfortable and, in the process, provides the stability for breech babies to turn.

Dr. McCullen is recognized throughout the United States and Europe for her use of gentle low force chiropractic and her customized and personal approach to nutritional guidance. One of the Doc's loves is to personally work with each patient and teach them how to have the best health and longevity they can! She truly cares and can help you and your children with any situation that is occurring!

Nutrition by Natalie
Natalie has always been a food enthusiast, and even in childhood was nicknamed the “food police” by her family. She was always aware of what other people were eating and would voice her concerns if she didn’t agree with their portion sizes or food choices. Natalie’s innate sense of balanced eating combined with family members that were struggling with digestive issues made nutrition a deeply interesting field of study.

After years of her own extreme gastrointestinal symptoms in college, Natalie was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome during her Junior year, but found little relief through conventional treatment. Her own personal battle with IBS led her to research and utilize appropriate diets, and alternative therapies, including the use of digestive enzymes and probiotics. Natalie has since been symptom-free and maintains a deeply held passion for helping those with digestive disorders.

Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005 and during school was a member of the Student Dietetic Association, American Dietetic Association, Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Natalie completed her graduate dietetic internship through Marywood University and is currently registered dietitian-eligible. She is currently a member of the American Dietetic Association, Texas Dietetic Association, Austin Dietetic Association, Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group, SCAN - Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists and the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group.

Natalie gained culinary skills and experience in the retail food industry at Whole Foods Market. She has also functioned as a research clinic coordinator and an enzyme nutraceutical educator at Transformation Enzyme Corp. for doctors, patients and clients.

Her well-rounded, holistic view of nutrition and health became the foundation for her own practice, Nutrition By Natalie, founded in 2005. Natalie consults individuals, families, groups and businesses on all aspects of nutrition and health, including weight loss, digestive disorders, and preventative health. In addition to working with clients in her private practice, Natalie writes health-related articles for magazines, websites and books, is featured on radio programs, speaks at events and conferences worldwide, is a spokesperson for various health food companies, works part-time as a clinical dietitian at a local hospital and provides free nutrition education videos on the internet.

Natalie is inspired by helping others achieve their goals and knows that the primary way of doing this is by living what she preaches, so it is her utmost priority to be healthy, active and fit.

Natalie currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Craig and dog, Chance.
